OUR JOHNSON BASEBALL TEAM IS HEADED TO THE REGIONAL QUARTERFINALS AND THEY ARE FRESH OFF OF A 2-0 SERIES VICTORY OVER SAN ANTONIO BRECKENRIDGE, AND WE FLIPPED AND ARE GOING TO PLAY CEDAR PARK, AND IT'S GOING TO BE A ONE GAME SERIES AT CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY AT 7:00 ON FRIDAY NIGHT, AND IT'S A WINNER TAKES ALL TO THE REGIONAL SEMIFINALS, AND SO I WANTED YOU TO TAKE NOTE OF THAT IN CASE YOU WERE INTERESTED, AND THEN SOFTBALL HAD A WONDERFUL SEASON.
THEY MADE IT ALL THE WAY TO THE REGIONAL QUARTERFINALS AS WELL FOR HAYS HIGH SCHOOL, AND THEY GOT BEAT IN EXTRA INNINGS BY ROUND ROCK ON FRIDAY NIGHT AND THE SCORE WAS 4 TO 3, AND IT COULD HAVE GONE EITHER WAY, AND JUST AMAZING.
I REALLY ENJOYED WATCHING THEM THIS YEAR.
THEY HAD JUST SOME TIMELY HITS AND SOME OUTSTANDING DEFENSIVE PLAYS AND JUST, JUST GREAT CROWD.
JUST REALLY, REALLY FUN, FUN ATMOSPHERE AND SO KIND OF SAD THAT THEIR SEASONS ARE WE BUT VERY PROUD OF THEM, AND THEN JOHNSON HAD SEVEN TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETES THAT COMPETED AT THE STATE TRACK MEET, AND SO WE WERE VERY WELL REPRESENTED THERE.
A LOT OF KIDS HAD THEIR PERSONAL BEST.
NO KNOW WE HAD SOME FIFTH PLACE ALL THE WAY THROUGH EIGHTH PLACE FINISHES IN THE STATE.
SO TO BE TOP FIVE OR EIGHT IN THE STATE IS REMARKABLE.
AND THEN WE HAD A YOUNG MAN FROM HAYES HIGH SCHOOL IN THE WHEELCHAIR DIVISION OF THE 100 THAT FINISHED SECOND AND EARNED A SILVER AND JUST A FRESHMAN.
SO WE'RE EXPECTING HIM TO BRING BACK THE GOLD THE NEXT NEXT TWO OR THREE YEARS.
SO REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THAT, AND THEN OF COURSE, WE HAVE THE LINE BAGGER TOP TEN AWARD CEREMONY ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT, AND SO LOOKING FORWARD TO ACKNOWLEDGING EACH ONE OF THE KIDS FOR THEIR HARD WORK OVER THE COURSE OF THE LAST FOUR YEARS, AND THEN ON MAY THE 31ST, WE HAVE OUR FIRST TWO GRADUATION CEREMONIES.

AT THE LAST BOARD MEETING, YOU HEARD A MINORITY OF TRANSPORTATION EMPLOYEES GRIEVANCES ON MISINFORMATION THEY WERE GIVEN ON A PROPOSAL TO EQUALIZE THE DEPARTMENT IN MATTERS OF STRIFE.

WE NOT ONLY LOOKED AT ELECTRONIC FEEDBACK, BUT TOOK IN VERBAL FEEDBACK WE GOT FROM INDIVIDUALS IN THE DEPARTMENT WHEN WE SAT DOWN TO CREATE A PROPOSAL WITH THE ENTIRETY OF THE DEPARTMENT IN MIND THAT INCLUDES THE YOUNG GENERATION SUCH AS MYSELF, ALL THE WAY UP TO OUR SECOND AND THIRD RETIREES.WE LOOKED AT SHOP PAYROLL CORE MANAGEMENT H.R.
WE COVERED THOSE WHO CAN AND WANT TO WORK 8 HOURS AND THOSE WHO DON'T WANT TO WORK 8 HOURS.
WE WILL NOT MAKE 100% OF EVERYBODY HAPPY, BUT WITH THIS PROPOSAL WE HAD THE INTENT THAT THE MAJORITY WILL FEED, WILL FEEL HEARD AND RESPECTED. IF YOU WANT TO WORK MORE HOURS, THERE ARE PLENTY OF OPPORTUNITIES TO DO SO WITHIN TRANSPORTATION.

THIS YEAR WE HAVE MADE STRIDES AND POSITIVES SUCH AS OUR ATTENDANCE INCENTIVE THAT HAS RAISED ATTENDANCE 70% HIGHER THAN IT DID IN THE FALL, CREATED SOLUTIONS TO HELP OPEN THE DOOR BACK TO COMMUNICATION ACROSS THE WHOLE DEPARTMENT, WORKING ON BRINGING SOLUTIONS TO STUDENT MANAGEMENT ON BUSSES, AND PROPOSE PLANS OFFERING EQUITY ADJUSTMENTS ACROSS THE DEPARTMENT AND A TOPIC OF TONIGHT'S BOARD MEETING, WHICH IS THE $20 AN HOUR STARTING PAY FOR DRIVERS.

YEAH. SO ALREADY THERE HAVE BEEN A FEW THINGS GOING ON THIS YEAR AT A COUPLE OF DIFFERENT SCHOOLS.
SIMON MIDDLE SCHOOL DID A HUGE SEND OFF.
THE WHOLE SCHOOL WAS IN THE HALLWAY TO SENDING THE KIDS OFF, GETTING READY FOR COMPETITION, AND THEN AT BARTON MIDDLE SCHOOL ON THE SEVENTH GRADE FOOTBALL TEAM, ONE OF MY COOL FRIENDS, HE'S IN THE WHEELCHAIR.
HE WAS A MANAGER, BUT THEY MADE HIM BE PART OF A PLAY AND HE GOT TO CARRY THE FOOTBALL INTO THE END ZONE AND SCORE THE TOUCHDOWN, AND HE LOVED IT, AND THEN JOHNSON HIGH SCHOOL HAD A PEP RALLY AT THE VERY BEGINNING OF FOOTBALL SEASON, AND MISS MONTEMAYOR'S FL CLASS GOT TO GO OUT ON THE FIELD, AND THEY HAD BEEN PRACTICING AT DANCE YMCA AND THEY GOT TO GO OUT IN THE MIDDLE AND DO IT, AND THEY JUST HAD SO MUCH FUN, AND THEN THE WHOLE SCHOOL IS ACTUALLY LIKE BEHIND THEM AND DIFFERENT ATHLETES ARE BEHIND THEM.
SO WE ALREADY HAVE KIND OF THAT GOING, SO WE JUST WANT TO MAKE IT EVEN BIGGER AND STRONGER.
THEY'RE REPORTING THESE THAT ARE ALREADY HAPPENING.
IT PROMOTES LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT THROUGH THE INCLUSIVE YOUTH LEADERSHIP.

SO THE FIRST YEAR SPECIAL OLYMPICS DOES PROVIDE $500 TO EACH CAMPUS.

YEAR TWO, THEY PROVIDE $250 PER CAMPUS, AND THREE YEARS AND BEYOND, THE CAMPUS HAVE TO BE ABLE TO SUPPORT THE ONGOING EFFORTS OF THEIR SCHOOL.
SO EACH CAMPUS HAS THE POWER TO MAKE IT THEIR OWN.
SO WHAT ONE CAMPUS DOES DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN ANOTHER CAMPUS HAS TO DO IT.
