COLLEGE ALIGNED COURSEWORK ITSELF IS ANY COURSE THROUGH WHICH A STUDENT MAY EARN COLLEGE CREDIT IN HIGH SCHOOL, THAT COULD BE ADVANCED PLACEMENT, THAT COULD BE DUAL CREDIT WITH ACC, OR DUAL ENROLLMENT THROUGH UT ON RAMPS IN BOTH ADVANCED COURSES AND COLLEGE ALIGNED COURSEWORK. THE NUMBER AND THE PERCENTAGE OF STUDENTS ENGAGED IN THESE COURSES IS GROWING, AS THE NUMBER OF COLLEGE CREDITS STUDENTS ARE, AS IS THE NUMBER OF COLLEGE CREDIT STUDENTS EARNING WHILE IN HIGH SCHOOL.

TALKING ABOUT GT, BRIEFLY, 8% OF THE STUDENTS IN HAYS CISD ARE IDENTIFIED AS GIFTED AND TALENTED.
THIS IS UP FROM 6% IN 2022-23 AND IS CLOSE TO THE 9% OF STUDENTS STATEWIDE.
THESE GAPS ARE ALSO APPARENT AT THE STATE LEVEL, BUT WE DON'T LIKE IT.

THE CHILDREN HAVE TO FIGURE IT OUT ON THEIR OWN FROM THEIR TABLE MATES.
IT'S CALLED INQUIRY BASED AND ASK A FRIEND BASED IS ESSENTIALLY WHAT IT IS, AND IT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO LEARN THESE VERY, VERY THESE ARE NOT EASY CLASSES.
